it seems like ages ago that we arrived in New York City and took a stroll into times square. while there we went to the discount ticket booth and got tickets at 50% off and saw stomp. After stomp we managed to get on the subway and find our way back to our hotel.
DAY 2  and we used our hop on-off bus tickets to go up to Harlem, stopped at central park for a stretch of the legs and then back on the bus to the World Trade Center site. it is basically a big construction site with a little memorial the pictures of what is being built look really nice.
Yankee stadium for the game. Yankees beat LA if anyone was wondering and Yankee stadium is freezing when you seat up that high in the open and it starts to rain. Had a great time at the game and tried every American delight, popcorn, beer, hot dog, corn dog on a stick and cheese fries (1300+ calories just for the fries, fantastic)
Day 3 and again used hop on off bus to visit the areas of Greenwich village and Soho. lots of cafes shops and people watching. in the evening we headed over to Brooklyn in the open air bus with some not so good weather so ended the evening in a warm irish pub for some hearty food.
Day 4 we went on a cruise around Manhattan island which took around 3 hours and then went to the Rockefeller center and went to "the top of the rock" the observation deck.
Day 5 - madame Tussuad's wax museum to get a photo with all the famous people, the killed a bit of time in times square before doing a food on foot tour around the lower east side and chinatown. the tour was fantastic with highlight being the donut shop. had to line up for a donut as the shop recently got great reviews in the new york times. after a lot of walking we got a massage and my lady not only pummeled me but also walked on me. it was a great massage.
Day 6 and fifth ave. bought a couple of things from the A&F shop as well as posing for a model. This evening we meet up with my (Cats) cousin Helen who lives here and went to a cool english pub for a spotted pig beer.
Day 7 Statue of Liberty and Ellis island
Day 8 NBC studio tour then hired a bike each and rode from Battery Park (south tip of Manhattan) to central park and around central park. last night in NYC so went up the empire state building.
the 22nd was a boring day traveling to the airport and because we had an early shuttle a few hours to kill in Newark airport. not alot to do there. Now we are in Toronto
We have a hire car here and Ali is doing very well driving on the wrong (right) side of the street, we just have to remember to get into the right side of the car then we are all good
