We attempted during the first front (with Chris and Misty our new ski friends form Forbes) to get to the crystal hut for their world famous waffles. but by the time we got there through the blizzard (might be a little exaggeration but not far off) the hut was closed so no waffle. on our last day again through blizzard like conditions we headed to the hut. after being blown up the mountain and not really knowing which we was up due to snow being everywhere, and one amazing yard sale - term used when one falls and ski's poles goggles all go in different directions - by Ray not us, we made it and in time to have a waffle and glass of red to calm the nerves
Mountain puts on a great show every Sunday night the "fire and Ice show" basically they have skiers and boarders jump through a ring of fire and do all sorts of flips at the same time. The mountain also provides hosts which everyday they take anyone who can ski half decent on a 1 1/2 -2 hr free tour to see the best parts of the slopes. the hosts are mainly retired people who volunteer 1 day per week and in return they get a season ski pass free and they all commented on the parties they get also. we did a couple of tours as it is nice for some one to show you the way.
while in Whistler we also went zip lining - flying fox for adults. we zipped over some of the old growth rain forest which was very beautiful and quiet exhilarating at speeds of up to 80km/hr.
things to remember in whistler, thongs and socks are not good to walk in especially when it is snowing!!
we are now back in Vancouver for the day (easter - better go find some chocolate for breakfast) before heading off to our cruise around the Bahama's
