Throughout our trip everyone had always said you'll love San Fran and they were right. There is so much to do and see and it's just such a great place to be...we could definitely live in San Francisco!

Sam's mum and dad kindly bought us tickets to visit Alcatraz and Muir woods. First stop Muir Woods, I'm going to be honest and say that I wasn't overly excited to be visiting the woods but once we arrived I quickly realised why it's so renowned. The trees are massive, the tallest tree in the Muir Woods is 258 feet (79 m). The trees come from a seed no bigger than that of a tomato. Most of the redwoods in the Monument are between 500 and 800 years old. It really is an enchanting place to be (and freezing).

After that we headed to Alcatraz, it's so creepy but really cool to visit. You walk around the prison with earphones on listening to voices of prisoners and a guide telling you some of the stuff that went on.

We had clam chowder walking along the pier and went to Pier 39 to see the seals - that was awesome! Sam drove the car down the zig zag road, Lombard Street (I'm not going to lie it was a tight squeeze!)

We had such a good time driving up the West Coast of America and would not hesitate to go back!!

Now we're off to New York....eeeeeek!

Lots of Love from
Alex & Sam
