Napier

Alex: We had heard good things about Napier from a few people so we decided to stop here to break up the journey between Rotorua and Wellington. The town was reduced to rubble in the 30's after an earthquake so the city was rebuilt with earthquake resistant buildings in the Art Deco style, literally every building in the centre is Art Deco. Put that with the stunning coast line and you have a very pretty town.We didn't do too much, just wandered the front and the centre before becoming the poshest backpackers ever and cooking green-lipped mussels for our tea (well my tea anyway) which are dirt cheap here!
