Dean: Our long trip down to Ushuaia was broken up at Rio Gallegos, as the connecting bus down to Ushuaia was full and so we have to wait until tomorrow (Monday) to continue south. Not really a problem as after 19 hours on a coach we are really ready for a shower and a chance to stretch our legs. Rio Gallegos is a nice town but does not really draw in the tourists (other than those passing through, down to Ushuaia), but it's got everything we need - a nice hostel, a few restaurants serving beer as well as food, and Internet cafes! Walking around town, the one thing we noticed is that it is colder down here - trainers rather than sandals, jumper and coat back on! I'm sure we can cope with a bit of cold weather for a few weeks, as it means that one of our major mile stones (maybe the most important one) is nearly upon us - from the norths of Alaska to Tierra del Fuego and the southern tip of the Americas. How exciting is that!
