Next stop Côte d'Opale, just south of Calais. The storm has buggered everything up so there was no water. We packed everything up before an English man who actually spoke French (envious much) managed to get it sorted with the rather eccentric owner, so at least we managed to brush our teeth.

Long drive but the Côte d'Opale is lovely - quite English looking but I suppose that is understandable given how close we are now - very pretty and lives up to its name. We could tell how close we are to Calais by the number of GB and other non-French number plates there are - everyone seems to be on their hols.

We took a walk along the shore, spying the English coast in the distance (we think!) The shore is edged with white cliffs- much like those in the distance - pebble beaches and the seemingly inevitable WWII battlements and pill boxes. We then had a few beers and a delicious meal to round off the holiday.
