English - After the barren landscape of the Thar desert we headed on a 36 hour non-stop journey up to the Punjab changing trains 3 times. We stayed in the city of Jalandhar with our friend Baljit and his family. Their hospitality was amazing, the best we have experienced so far in India. We stayed with them for 1 week and in this time we were treated to at least 4 square meals a day and many interesting excursions. The Punjab is the most affloent state in India and this is obvious from the minute you arrive, just the number of cars on the roads instead of cows and goats gives it away. Baljit took a week off work which we are very grateful for and chauffeured us around in A/C car to all the sites. The best of these being the day trip to Amritsar and the magnificent Golden Temple, quite laterally gold plated. The temple has experienced a very gruelling past, battle after battle, the most recent being when the India army blow it up accusing the Sikh's inside of being terrorists. Nevertheless, the temple has been rebuilt to its former glory and is visited daily by thousands of people all queuing patiently to see the sacred book and take part in the biggest free food restaurant you can ever imagine. We had a great stay with Baljit and his family and will miss them a lot...Thanks!
Czech - Po uzasnym pobytu v poustnim state Radzastan jsme putovali dal do nejbohatsiho statu na severu Indie Punjab, stat nabozenstvi zvane sikism, lide nosici velke turbany a plnovous/velice mili narod a vzdy ochotny pomoci.Celkova cesta do Punjabu nas trvala 36 hodil nastesti prvni trida vlakem.Tyden jsme zustali u naseho pritele , ktery ma rodinu v UK a jsou dobry pratele s Alexovymi rodici. Baljit a jeho rodina se o nas velice dobre starala. Jeho zena nam navarovala 4 jidla denne a brali nas na vylety po Punjabu a do Amritsi kde je jeden z nejposvatnejsich mist siku zvany Golden Temple, meli jsme zde uzasny den dokonce jsme pred chramem dostali jidlo ve stilu thali zadarmo.Baljit nas take vzal na veceri do jedne z velice tradicnich Punjabskych restauraci, kde jsme vsichni sedeli na polstarich na zemi kolem dlouheho stolu, a cisnici nam prinesli kolem 10 ruznych dipu cary a stale nam pridavali, takze jsme meli po te pekne velky pupky:]]]Timto bych rada jeste jednou podekovala Baljitovi a jeho rodine za uzasne straveny tyden a za vinikajici jidlo......opravdu nam ted chybi.Prujmu se totiz snad nezbavime:]]]]]
