Czech - Z Kathrin jsme meli dlouho cestu -1200km ,do mestecka uprostred pouste jmenem Alice Springs.
English - Relax! We are still alive! So, back to our trip to Alice Springs. Here we caught up with Erin (mate from London) and Mark and had our first taste of sleeping out of the van since leaving Perth. We arrived pretty late at night after a 950KM stint in the Bongo Bus, our longest day driving so far passing absolutely nothing of interest on the way. Alice springs is in the middle of absolutely no-where and the only thing remotely close by being the McDonald Range National Park, home to the world famous Ormiston Gorge! What a privilege to have visited such a wonderful and world renowned place. We had a great time catching up with Ez and Mark, in particular trying Camel stew for the first time which is not unlike beef at all. The camels roam free in the desert and there is a bit of a draught at the mo which is effecting the price of beef - it certainly looks like beef as well. Also heard about Mark got bitten by a Red Back spider and didn't even bother going to Hospital! Not me, I want a bloody helicopter if I get bitten. While here, we also took a trip out to the not so famous Ayres Rock, or now as it is called Uluru. When you enter the place they ask you politely not to climb the rock and respect the Aboriginal values of the place, however, they also ask you to pay $25 each! For that price I wanted 3 course meal on top of it! Unfortunately it was closed because it was to hot or something. Anyway, the rock blew us away and we watched the Sun Set and Sun rise there with a few other bus loads of tourists. We also took a walk through the valley of the winds and experienced the stunning views of the Olga's - some other rocks a bit like Uluru but not as famous. Anyway, they both still have a long way to catch up with Ormiston Gorge - true class. After this, we headed on a bit of a road trip to the east coast - more on that to come. Thanks again to Ez and Mark for their wonderful hospitality!
