Doing something 'normal' in a foreign country always interests me, it allows you to see all the subtle differences and similarities. And so yesterday I visited the doctor, something I don't really want to try and do in every country we visit, but interesting nonetheless. I've been a little sick for the last few days, and as my manliness couldn't fix the problem in 3 days I thought it best to have a bit of a check-up. A few days ago Alex and I talked about going vegetarian as an experiment and I'm convinced this highly distressing discussion sent my body into shut down mode......but Alex is not so sure, and thinks I might just be a bit run down.
We are in a beautiful town called Olomouc in the Czech Republic staying in a hostel run by an Australian couple, and they've been able to help us find an english speaking doctor. Aside from the pornographic reading material and grumpy receptionists, it was actually a rather high-end practice, and after a very thorough once over, including an ultrasound like the one you have when you're pregnant (sorry mum, no babies to report), there's nothing to worry about. Alex must have just worn me out racing up all those hills....!
