We came to your country and your house on the 5th of July 2011 planning to stay for a few weeks, it's now the 16th of August, 7 weeks later and we are only now just packing our bags, we are sad and we really don't want to go!! Our time with you has been amazing and particularly special for me (Jason) because of my Estonian heritage. You took us into your home, taught us about your country, made us so much beautiful food, showed us the beach, the bog, the waterfall and the forest, you made us laugh, you taught us your language and above all else you made us feel so welcome for so long. Thankyou so much and we hope we can see you again some time soon.
Everyone was hard at work building houses, what a massive effort and we hope it all gets finished before winter comes.
Thankyou so much for taking us on so many excursions around Pikva. We loved exploring the bog, the beach, the forest and loads of other places. You are all very lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world. And good luck with swimming lessons, we are sure you will be keeping up with the fish very soon.
We loved visiting Tallinn and getting to know Estonia's capital. The old town is increadibly beautiful, as is Kadriorg Park. We visited lots of museums, saw the flower festival and spent lots of time wondering and exploring. It's very special to live in the country side but also be close to a beautiful city.
Kaarel, the king of funny faces, we are really going to miss you so much. You can be very cheeky and cuddly at the same time....a fun combination. We think you have a great future as an Architect, you house was very impressive. Keep on building your amazing creations.
Kadri, we had so much fun playing so many games with you. Thanks for teaching us lots of Estonian words and not laughing at us too much when we kept getting them wrong! And what a fantastic birthday party. I'm so sad I couldn't be there but Jason had a great time and ate some cake for me.
One of our favourite things about our time here was mealtimes around the big outdoor table under the tree. We enjoyed chatting and getting to know you all, and the best of all was trying so much yummy estonian food. Thankyou Sille and Mamma for so much delicious food, especially the desserts. And as for all your parties we won't be forgetting the rafters party or Kadri's 7th any time soon. They were lots of fun even if the boys did tend to get out of hand towards the end of the night....naughty boys.
Thank you all so much for a wonderful time, I know it seemed like we would be the helpers that would never leave, and we really appreciated your patience while we sorted out my visa problems. We learnt lots while we stayed with you and will take back our woodchopping, blueberry picking, vegetable gardening and jam making (or jam eating) skills home to Australia. We are going to miss you all. We feel incredibly lucky to have made such wonderful new friends, and hopefully we will see you all again in the not too distant future, either back here in Pikva, or at our home in Sydney.
Tanan Vaga, Lots of Love, Jason and Alex
