This old colonial port town is a big weekend destination for Malaysians.  It has a history that involves Dutch, Portugese and Bristish rule and many buildings from that era still remain.  I have never seen so many museums in one town.  A brief outline is that the Dutch, Portugese British were once again a bunch of bastards, the Malays were pretty glad to see the back of them and were delighted when one of the Portugese galleon ships full of Malay treasure sunk in the Straights of Malacca.

Malacca had a lovely china town.  Defined but the traditional house decorations rather than the flashing neon of the big cities.  Malays continue to prove to be incredibly friendly.  I like them alot.
