Just had THE loveliest weekend, with our two friends Laura G and Laura M from Oz visiting our little (or big in Rhiannon's case) towns here in sunny Germany.
We started off in Tuebingen on Wednesday with Pad Thai and lots of catching up. Thurs was the tourist route of Tuebingen, followed closely by Curry for dinner and haircuts in my kitchen (thanks Amy!) and the European Outdoor Film Festival. It's a short film fest. of Extreme sports e.g. clips of people skydiving/trailbiking/an aussie guy walking to the North Pole and its travelling around Europe at the moment- AND yes...Tuebingen was on the list of destinations! I must say we all felt a little out of place, not wearing our EXTREME outdoor camping gear etc., but the films were great!
We also met up with Christiane (my tandem/friend in Tueby) and had a nice drink out. Next stop- Baden-Baden/Karlsruhe! Friday we dropped our stuff off at Ran's place and then spent the afternoon/evening luxuriously paddling about in the Baden-Baden thermal spas...closely followed by a late night of Nachos... Saturday we got some great weather for visiting Heidelberg, topped by a FANTASTIC evening at Tami's (Rhiannons friend from California) where we were all indulged with a capital 'I' to our very first Thanksgiving Dinner! Tami's nan sponsored the whole thing- complete with THE most massive Turkey i have ever seen and leaf-patterned serviettes. Thanks Tam- I'll never taste a better Cranberry Sauce or Apple Cider in my life i'm sure! Sadly we had to say goodbye to the girls this arvo., although we've already started planning Christmas so i'm sure time will pass like lightening until we see them again (thanks for visitin' bubbas- we love you!)
Enjoy the pics everyone- and Happy Thanksgiving! xoxo More thumbnails ...
