Getting cultured in fair Florence

Well well...guess who got up at 7am this morning to see a nude statue!
Having been informed there'd be throngs of people cued up to see David, we set out early, before light almost, along the empty streets of Florence. Upon arrival, we found ourselves all alone, at the BEGINNING of the queue to get in! We were the first in to see David this morning though, in all his glory, so our endeavour paid off in some way! It was pretty magnificient, as was the rest of our tour around today. Getting into another big museum, we pretended that we were German citizens (for an EU discount you see...), and Rhiannon pulled of a very good confused German, while Laura's "JA, JA's" seemed to also do the trick. We found ourselves half-pricedly touring a costume museum and the famous Giardino di Boboli gardens here- all very beautiful and interesting.
Also got to catch up with Michela- friend from Tuebingen- which was really nice. Very excited about heading to Naples and Pompeii from here- Italy is fabulous! More thumbnails ...
