Masseuses say they're unbothered by padlockedpants

What a title! What a paper! The Jakarta Post, THE no.1 English newspaper in Indo, has gallantly been pursuing this story about masseuses wearing chastity belts for almost a week now. The story, making the front page a few times, is essentially about massage parlours forcing their female workers to wear these underwear locking devices. Nowhere have i been able to find an actual description of how they actually work, so i too have the big metal contraption maid Marion wears in Robin Hood Men-In-Tights in mind... An article denoucing the pants as anti-feminist and disgraceful led to many an article about how happy many women were that they were now safe from sexual predators in the workplace and that the lockable pants are a great idea! I get a good giggle out of it everytime i look at the newspaper clipping on my wall, so just thought i'd share it with you all...gotta love this crazy country!
In other news, the kids at work treated me to a traditional Liwet yesterday- a meal of rice, tempeh, tofu and loads of other tasty treats all laid out on gigantic banana leaves. Delicious! I then watched the boys play Futsal for ages on the court behind the school, they're a bunch of superstars!
On the nature-woman front, things are getting slightly ridiculous. I've moved on from my infestation of cockroaches, and have now moved into the Termite Phase! Pretty weird, considering most of this house is concrete and tiles! Massacre no.1 has already taken place, and the may be a sequel as yet, we'll have to wait and see... Not too much other news- have started plans for a decentralised recycling project at work, which i think is going to be fantastic! Am also thinking about marketing some stuff that the sewing workshop produces to OxFam or fair trade shops overseas. I've attached some pics to get your opinion, so send it to me!! Have a good ANZAC day on Friday (especially to you nan) xxxx

Masseuses are not prostitutes. (reply) May 12, 2008 10:23 EST by clip
Yes its crazy the way the world is getting into. The Masseuse concept can be very different from country to country, i have used the massage business before from several places and rent-a-masseuse.com suite me better than any other, i did not expect masseuses to get sexually involved during the process, and actually they did not, despite the good looking body and the extreme sensuality. Many think... show all

hey! those little people are better than the dolls from Africa that Mum sent me after she did her obligatory Oxfam shop at Christmas! (Shell was slightly scared of them when I showed them to her..) Go for it!
