Kota Kinabalu - Back to Malaysian soil on the eastern side of Borneo; a province known as Sabah. How very confusing. We took several vehicles including two boats to arrive. Tweek's brother Greg lived and worked here maybe two years ago. By chance the very first bar we stopped into was Greg's previous employer. He was fondly remembered. Much later that evening i spotted an English couple enjoying drinks and football on a pub screen. I was surprised to discover they were on a seven day holiday. They had been just as surprised to discover the cheap Internet holiday they had picked up wasn't an easy flight and in fact took them the best part of twenty four hours. Ho,ho, ho, ho, ho, ho, ....................... ho, ho, ho.
Kota Kinabalu is a pleasant coastal town/small city. It is within a reasonable driving distance of South East Asia fourth tallest peak, Mt Kinanbalu . Oh god no, not a mountain.
