WOW. It really is wonderful here. So wonderful that we decided to stay for 3 weeks or so. Our promised 'stop' happened.
We spent much of our time messing about in the sea, playing frisebee in the afternoons and have managed to do a couple of dives too. Beach, beach lovely beach. We've eaten our way up to fighting weight again - the food is fantastic! Who can resist a Thai curry though - not me that's for sure. And we enjoyed a few beers and soaked up a whole load of sport at 'Choppers', the Aussie sports bar. We had a few late nights because of the late kick-offs but we managed.....somehow. My Mum paid us a visit for a week. We did lots of snorkelling, plenty of chatting and did a Thai cookery course together. We can now make Spring rolls, Phad Thai, a mean Green Chicken curry and, for those who enjoy it, Tom Yum soup. Quite a menu! The trip seems to have given her the travel bug again and there are plans afoot to go to Australia and NZ in Dec / Jan time. We're hoping to meet up again then.
Apart from that we did lots and lots of relaxing and had a good few massages. There is a woman, very sweet she is too, who does the best head and face massage I've ever had. It is worth travelling all the way to Koh Tao for. There's a large dog population on Koh Tao and they all seem to own their own bit of turf. Noticeably, they do not stray onto eachother's patch. Its all very amicable though. They've already sorted out where they stand in the chain of dog command and there are no fights. They just stand and shout at eachother from time to time. Most of them, although they don't have a home to speak of, have been adpoted by the human population of the island.
