"Can't we go any faster" was the unlikely comment from the Spaniard who was doing a good job at concealing his annoyance. He was talking to our coach driver. We had been travelling up hill at a snail's pace for maybe sixty minutes. What was unusual for Vietnam was this is the very last question you'd expect to hear. In a country where over taking at speed, down hill on a blind corner was considered normal, and reading your book and forgetting about the madness beyond the windscreen, is the best bet.

The journey from Nha Trang to Dalat was strangely sedate.

Needless to say the Spaniard's questions - which soon become barely reigned in annoyance - did little to speed the coach. Personally, I couldnt have given a monkies pee pee why we were trundling through the jungle. And I'm willing to bet whatever the reason behind the driver doing the trundling, was because his boss had told him to take his time and save the fuel. Its ain't Europe here, so we cant expect the same service values. And that is for sure. Mind you, if i was expecting to get off the coach and meet a connecting vehicle, i might have very well got up and said something.

It rained in Da Lat from the time we arrived to the time we left (2 days later) and is probably still chucking it down as I type.........
