We stayed in Hue of a couple of days. It was very quiet compared to the noisey, dirty streets of Ha Noi.
Chinny and I took a break from eachother for a day. He wanted to do a tour of the DMZ (Demilitarised Zone) to look at 'war stuff' (not really my thing) and I opted for a more sedate City tour to take a look at the temples. We flipped a coin to decide who would have the camera for the day, my better half won.....a nice break for me though, I'm sure that thing is getting heavier by the day.
My tour was OK. It was touted as 1/2 day coach trip plus 1/2 a day boat trip down the Perfume River. The temples were very lovely looking but the ratio of coach to bus was badly skewed when we spent only 40mins on the boat at the end of a long day. The dual pricing policy at the temples jarred me off a bit too; Even though the prices are clearly displayed the tourists get charged double for entry into each temple.
Chin enjoyed his DMZ tour - an even longer day for him. I'm sure he'll write a few words about it here..........
