The train journey to Moscow took all night and we arrived at about 7:00am the following day.

What I can remember of Moscow was lots and lots of walking. Our hostel, although clean, was really poky. It was miles away from the centre and it took at least 10mins walking to get to the Metro station nearest our hostel...moan,moan,moan...but that's Moscow for you. If you get a cheap room it means that it is in a very inconvenient location.

We ate very well, yet again. We found a place called My My (pron. Moo Moo). Great food and very cheap for Moscow. I tried borsch for the first time - wonderful stuff.

I also had the best hot chocolate I've had in my life Fountain

. Chili hot chocolate. If you get the chance to have it - do. It's magic.

Apart from that I'm afraid Moscow didn't really make an impression on me. Apart from the Metro stations.......they were gorgeous. So opulent.

We were stood at a Metro platfrom early one morning - I think it was the morning of the V-Day celebrations - waiting for the next train when this guy totters on the edge of the platform and then fell onto the tracks! Chin and a few others rushed to help him. Luckily a train had just left and so they had time. Trains are really frequent - we never needed to wait  more than a minute before one arrived.
