the switzerland of southamerica. Well there are no mountains here but its a very relaxing atmosphere, like switzerland. Its small though, about 400 km in diameter (like switzerland!).
From Buenos Aires i drove up to Colon , AR, to cross the international bridge into uruguay.
I could (should!) have taken the ferry from buenos aires to colonia for about 200$, but... i didnt.
Some Basics about Uruguay:
Money: 20 pesos UR = 1$
Gasoline: about 30 pesos a liter, thats 1.50$
But other than energy, thing are pretty cheap here.
The country is very clean, people are relaxed and very friendly, its very save here too.
I didnt go to Montevideo and punta leste, instead crossed inland and spend to nice evenings in countrytowns mingling with locals.
That was probably not the worst idea.
After only 4 days i headed on to Brazil.
