so here i came with my westy into MC, and just about into the wrongest
corner.
i entered from northwest into an mateo, which seemed to be the junkyard
of the city. loads of junk trucks passed me to those big yards where
many people where busy to pick around the stuff to find something
valuable.

ok, it took me 4 hours to get the the heard of the city, thats where the
Cathedral is.

The idea was to find a hostel and stay there Mexico City Plaza at Cathedral
Mexico City Plaza at Cathedral
.

hehe, i found the hostel, but.....there is no parking in the city
(unless you pay $8/hour).

so plan B.

i headed down south to a suburb called Tlalpan, a more richy area
with old restored houses.
There was a carpark for $1,60  a day.  big with trees, and as such , perfect for westy camping.

alright that was my base in MC. From there i took the bus to discover the
city (4 pesos).
There is also a tourist bus for 100pesos, that takes you too all interesting places. i found that very good.

nevertheless i spend 7 days  in MC of which 3 were just rainy from hurricane Dean.

The central plaza around the Cathedral seems to be the most interesting spot in the city. it also houses the parlament buldings and so on.

nightlife, there is. did not find the right spots.

so MC was nice but not overwhelming.
