just out of town, there is a turnoff from HW70, White Sands Nat Monument.
That means pay. 3 $. you see a lot of white sand dunes. its actually interesting.
its plain white....and it is not sand.....it is gips (you find it in building supply)
going further down HW 70, just before the mountains, you can turn off to
white sands missle range headquarter to see some old rockets in the museum.
They do have a original V-2 there (rebuild).
