Salt Lake City is the mormone headquarter of the US.
It was founded by mormones and so you will find temples and likewise
buildings in the center.
i found mormones being very friendly . you can have a guided tour through their
"holy halls".
and.. the city is not stiff at all. with life concerts downtown.
otherwise, the whole area is a big conglumerat of citys skattered around the south-east end
of the big Salt Lake.
I saw nobody swim in there. it has a salt saturation of approx. 40%.
some major saline are located out west to produce just that...salt.
i drove the 100 miles west to see the salt lake raceway.(Bonneville track) thats where those speed records
had been made.
well, disapointment. there is nothing there. you can drive on the track, but it feels more
like driving on a dirt road.
then headed southbound utah to the canyons.
there are a lot of them.
