The area has much history relating to WW2 as a Major training and recuperation area for troops. Apparently there could have been up to 160,000 camped around the tablelands at any given time.
There are plenty of markers around to show where the respective regiments were quartered.
The Milsltream falls were very good and lay claim to being Australia's widest falls. Still plenty of water around after the wet season so the falls were looking as good as to be expected.
Poor old shandi had unfortunately picked up a grass seed in one of her front paws and had to be treated by the local vet
For the cost of one car tyre later, Shandi was relieved of the offending grass seed and a few others she had picked up along the way.
Enjoyed city style pricing of groceries and booze. Indulged ourselves in a bakery pie too-bewdy !!!.
All that was missing was the hot shower and so after two nights at Archers Creek it was time to move on and see if there was any better weather down the hill.
Point to note - it was a very nice campsite which was well patronized, and the locals had developed habit tooting as they went by - be it 10am, 5pm, or 4am.........
