Since we left Gibraltar we have spent our time in the south of Spain.

After leaving Terifa and Gibraltar, we ended up camping at Nerja (Google it) at the far east end of the Costa del Sol.

The Costa del Sol is of course fabulously beautiful and fabulously over developed.  It could be called the Condo del Sol.  We did not bother stopping there, but we did see plently of fine hotel and condo developments on the way through.  For 149,000 Euros, you can have your own chunk of the Costa del Sol, according to the billboards.

At Nerja we found a very fine campgound. It had a pool, special for Jessie.

Nick and Jessie celebrated their 10th birthdays by chowing down on hamburgers in Nerja.  Actually Russell and Nick had burgers.  Jessie went with the ludicrously over-sized Clubhouse (with egg!) and finished it all.  It was a great birthday.

We spent some time on the beach in Nerja.  The topless sunbathers were a bit of a shock.  In situations like that, it is important to maintain eye contact.  Not with sunbather - with your spouse.

We toured the caves of Nerja, which contain the world's largest Calcite column (google it) and made for some fine sights.

Then we had a hot and dry 2 day drive from Nerja to Barcelona.

Last night we free-camped (ie parked illegally) off the freeway.  We stopped beside an ancient aquaduct and camped there for the night, utterly without anyone's permission.  It was great and it was free.

We arrived here this afternoon.   It was hot - so horribly hot in fact that Russell went for a swim!

We all took a dip and felt much better for it.

We plan to have a look at Barcelona for the next few days.  They have a fine pedestrian streed that needs exploring, and a couple of fine churches that I need to see.
