Day 3 - I surf...Im a surfer...I surf

Well, today I got up on the board! Very cool...got to ride a few waves, feel more comfortable on the board working out the balance and paddling part, feel much more confident. It was such an amazing feeling and the guys in the class were stoked for me as well, my instructor today was Andres, he was very good and determined to to get us riding waves, And I went back to being a goofy foot, like I am on a snowboard, practiced a bunch on the beach prior to paddling out, so I think that really helped, no hesitation or feet shuffling. Claudio who never surfed before got up on his board as well and caught a few waves..it was great! Brendan the other guy in our class has surfed before and he got some good pointers from Andres as well. There were hot surfer girls out in the line up today...which kept my focus less on standing up..so I think that helped..lol...Andres kept saying look at that girl's ass..and then pushed my board and blamo I was up on the board! Then the session went great from then on.
Its amazing how great it is being up at 6am, which I never would do normally for any reason, going surfing, hang out eat breakfast and start having drinks..all before 11am....the whole day is filled with whatever happens. We (Me, Claudio, Mia, Anna and Sean) took a walk into town to do some shopping, got a few shirts oh and my luck continues with just picking random flavors and turning into gold.,(Jeremy and Loni know what Im talking about)..Claudio and I stopped to get fruit juice/smoothie type drinks...they didn't have guava and papaya, though its on the menu...so I just said, Mango, Pineapple and Starfruit..and blamo...perfecto...we came back had some some before the rain started...yeah I love Bloody Mary's by the way so tasty. More Mahi Mahi for lunch.
So back to the room to shower and chill out before going back down for drinks and sushi for dinner, not sure what everyone is doing tonight, there is rumor of going to bar that has ladies night, ladies drink for free...so Im sure there is some plan for having the girls bring everyone drinks throughout the night..though Im not sure what Im going to do...the bar downstairs is great..and the sushi is great, so I can see myself gorging myself on sushi and Imperials again.

Well, I will add some more pics later on today, I let John borrow my camera cord, so when I get it back from him I will download the pics from the Rodeo last night..which was freaking hilarious and so much fun. My blog from last night didn't do it justice.

When the nose of the surfboard goes under the water on a drop/take off. Usually precedes a wipe out. Same as a nose dive.
Pearlitis
The propensity to drop into a wave and have the nose of the surfboard bury under water thus causing the rider to be pitched out from the face of the breaking wave. Generally resulting in the surfer being worked or rag dolled.
Goofy Foot
Rider who surfs with right foot as lead foot. Synonym: Screwfoot.
