Puerto Vallarta is a nice beach resort catering American twenty somethings on their week holiday or graduation party. The bars play hip hop as everyone gets drunk and has dance offs on the tables.
You know you are getting old when 1 mexican girl and 1 american girl are practically naked in a bar dancing to see who is ´best dancer of the americas´ and all you want to do is go to a quiet bar bar and relax. I have become more boring than i ever imagined.
There are 4 Seattle girls staying in the hostel and they must be the most boring people i have ever met
I went out with them on the first night and after 1 drink and after all the moaning in the world i called it a night and went to bed. I really hope they enjoy the rest of their holiday because i doubt they will have a better time in Seattle.
The next day i go to the Sheraton hotel and pretend that i am a guest at the hotel and get a sun lounger and towel and chill beside the pool all day. No sand for me today.
that night i relax as the following day i head for ......Guanajuato.
A little bit about Guanajuato.
Shoe-horned into a narrow ravine, GUANAJUATO was for centuries the wealthiest city in Mexico, its mines pouring out silver and gold in prodigious quantities. Today it presents a remarkable sight: emerging from the surrounding hills you come upon the town quite suddenly, a riot of colonial architecture, tumbling down hills so steep that at times it seems the roof of one building is suspended from the floor of the last
I meet Abel from Los Angeles on the bus and go on the town with him the first night. we meet Ariel and Marisol in the plaza and go for some drinks.
Ariel is on holidays from Texas and Marisol is a teacher from a nearby town. Both cute as you can see from the photos.
Alejandra from Zacatecas comes down to Guanajuato to meet me and we explore the city. This place is gorgeous .Full of little streets and cafes. I go see the Monumento al Pípila, on the hillside almost directly above the Jardín de la Unión, affords fantastic views of Guanajuato
That night we go to the plaza and see the callejoneadas play in the plaza and then go to a bar to drink some Sol.
the following night I cook Spag bol and go out as it is Mexico V Brazil in the Copa America. Myself Abel and Ale go to a bar and drink enormous Marjaritas and watch Mexico beat Brazil 2-0. it should have been 3-0 as the last kick of the game was when a Mexican player ´rounded´ the keeper and missed an open goal. it will surely be on a what happened next clip in the future.
After the game we go and try some Salsa. i think i have some rhythm but i definately need to get some lessons if i am to get any girls on the this trip.
Next stop.....Mexico City
