Lunch Buffet
Lunch Buffet
This weekend was very busy for us. We spent several hours yesterday (Saturday) afternoon om another craft-assembly work party. Then today (Sunday) was a full day of a fundraiser event with a team-meeting afterwards. Our fundraiser was held in the large foyer of Friends Church and we were there from 9:00am through 3:00pm.  The event included a lunch, a bakesale, a booksale, a candlesale, and a silent auction. The lunch was donated and catered by The Works Creative Catering, and consisted of Salmon Chowder, Beef Stew, a Salmon & Rice plate, mixed salad, and lemonade. The bakesale was an array of delicious delights.

Valerie sold her Sentsy Candles, and offered a portion of the mail-order items as profit to the Alaska Team. She also offered 100% of on-site inventory sales as profit to the team. Candle Table

Melanie (a previous Alaska Team traveler) offered a percentage of her booksales to our team. Both the candlesales and booksales were very popular!

We also conducted a silent auction table of a variety of items such as a Memory Makers craft kit, a Sewing Basket, a painting, and some stuffed animals. Doris & Giant Bear

One of the stuffed animals was a giant teddy-bear nearly as big as one of us!

After the fundraiser event, we all headed to the Sweet Basil Restaurant for some yummy Thai food, then it was onto our team meeting to practice some of our drama skits and songs. For those of you who missed the fundraiser event, but would like to support our team with a contribution, you may mail a check (made payable to Alaska Team) to us at the following address:
