Quietly leaving early trying to sneak out like a ninja but being more like a Sumo bumping into almost everything possible on the way I wished the guys luck who were going to jump out of a perfectly good airplane today while I would wait to the cheaper Taupo alternative. Gota to consider the logic of choosing the cheapest option when doing something like a skydive.

Anyway the bus to Wanaka was just a short hop for an hour arriving at the small lake side resort appearing more busy than Queenstown to which it seems to aspire to be.

Walking along beside the lake there is a mile of tiles or so with almost everyone having an historic moment written on it so getting a history lesson as well as a scenic walk but also a heck of a crick in the neck by the end Puzzling World
Puzzling World
.

Stopping by Puzzling World an eccentric place full of a bunch of illusions and puzzles including some leaning buildings to pose in front of pretending to hold them up with the Japanese around being in their element at that.

Headed up nearby Mt Iron for views over Wanaka and the lake they were worth the shortish climb but with the weather turning for the worst by the top sharp exit was soon sought after almost tripping over a dosey rabbit on the way down.

Back in the hostel having just met a German guy in the dorm whose first words to me was "I'm noisy, heh heh", way to make yourself popular there, I later met Saar a guy from Israeli who was also pointing himself up the west coast as we got talking and decided to go together. Especially since he had a car.
