A slow start with everyone happily sleeping in, probably all saving energy to be crowned Luge Champion 2006 with us all heading up the gondola to the mountain overlooking Queenstown to then race down it again, 3 times.
The luge carts were exactly that carts seeming about as stable as a shopping trolley but managing to go at near super sonic speeds or making it feel that way when your ass is about 1cm off the ground. Getting them on two wheels is plenty of fun though and even more impressive when you take into consideration that they only have 3. Rob managed to walk away triumphant although my excuse, and I'm sticking to it, is that it's all to do with who is the heaviest getting a speed advantage downhill. It is. Really. It's the truth. Ask anyone.
Staying at the top taking in the great views Neil and I headed further up and watched some paragliders taking the more scenic route down with first 2 Brazilians kids being strapped in one making the sign of the cross first followed later by a Japanese girl who you could hear screaming all the way down the valley. Even Rob and Tom heard her heading back down from inside the gondola. More thumbnails ...
