Not really bounding out of bed as we would at home we knew it would feel like this though as we spent most of the morning much like how we would be at home, in front of the TV, with a Muppet's Christmas Carol trying it's best to get people in the mood. Still pretty cool to wander around on Christmas Day in a t-shirt though.
With most things closed today we went out for walk being entertained by one guy not taking the day off performing some pretty funky magic tricks in the street.
Having chosen the big YHA in town to stay in we all expected something to be organized for Christmas but being let down with zilch going on beyond a few free mince pies (bunch of Scrooges) meaning more importantly we had to find somewhere to go for Christmas dinner. Finding one of the few places in town open and not booked we at pulled out all the stops to create the authentic Christmas atmosphere with some fetching paper party hats before 6 of us went out for a traditional Chinese Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. Failing to find any sweet and sour turkey or fried rice with roast potatoes and stuffing on the menu we at least didn't have to try and hide the brussel sprouts.
With people queuing at the phones to call home we had to wait for the pubs to open at midnight as we all headed out for a few drinks with the rain pouring down - now it feels like a UK Christmas.
