Failing to rise at the needed time I wandered round to Pike Place Market, where said fish go a flying between sellers, to take a look around what is called the 2nd oldest market in America and home to the first ever Starbucks. A short distance from here is a strange attraction in the form of a wall covered in chewing gum outside a theatre left by those queuing outside. Just glad some of that gum has not been around from when the market first started.
Walking down and round sculpture park I turned and headed towards the most unmissable sight in Seattle other than a coffee cup, the rather Jetsons-esque Space Needle. The tower built for the 1962 world's fair was one of a number of attractions round about including the Experience Music Project sponsored my Microsoft's second in command with that other empire also being based here
Meeting up with Vincent, Chis and Dan again we had decided to take a trip over to one of the islands in Puget Sound taking a half hour ferry ride over to Bainbridge island after it had been recommended. The ferry ride turned out to be more worthwhile than island itself though giving great views of Seattle and the sound before dumping us on an island where they only thing we found to do was to ask when the next ferry back was though that still didn't stop us looking for any happy hours while over here.
I had wanted to attend at least one sporting event while in America and with an NBA game tonight between the Seattle Supersonics and the Memphis Grizzlies we decided to check it out also due to the fact both teams have been a bit pants recently so getting tickets shouldn't be too hard. Arriving at the stadium a little before hand we were approached by one of the ticket touts outside getting 4 tickets off of him at a not too bad a deal till we noticed they weren't together. We then had to hang around for him to run back an forth between different people giving us the run around constantly saying "It's alright, it's ok, I'm in the game, I'm in the game!". Giving his stature the only think I could think of was "What as, the ball?"
The game was like no sport back home with it being a more entertainment show than a sport which with every interval saw crowd competitions, freebies, game shows, dancing and cheerleaders. Actually I liked the cheerleaders. The whole thing made a sport, that is usually played by girls back home where it is known as netball, all the more entertaining though with Seattle coming out on top despite us being the only few it seemed cheering on Memphis, just for the underdog fun of it.
