Dive Rarotonga was the outfit I had chose to get wet with along with 3 other guys, one about to start work here, one who had done over 5000 dives and one real salty old sea dog type who I was unsure if he worked here or not.
Dive site one was at a site called sand river with great visibility for me at last yet still half what it can sometimes be here at 40 meters
After a break back on land it was time for dive number two, my thirteenth. My dive buddy this time was the sea dog who seemed eager to use his large rusty dive knife repeatedly reminding me of the unlucky number of my dive and the possibility of perhaps having to remove a stuck foot or leg from a giant clam while smirking from behind the knifes blade. Great I'm diving with Jack the Ripper.
Returning to the surface intact, probably to someone's disappointment, it was another good dive with some triggerfish (love these guys), Christmas tree coral, Sergeant majors and a few giant clams, keeping them at a flippers distance.
With the sun setting, a group of use went out for a few drinks at a bar down the beach sitting overlooking the lagoon as the sun slipped slowly below the horizon. Traveling can be tough sometimes.
