Still playing stand off with the weather the rain continued all morning ending, or so I thought, any hopes of hurling myself out of a perfectly good airplane today which is the main crazy reason why I am here.

Taking a walk alongside the river to Huka Falls I met up with Lee from Malaysia also looking suitably lost trying to find the falls.

Lee had just done her skydive down in Queenstown filling me in on the do's and don'ts of dropping like a brick including smile for the camera and try not to hurl on the way down. Apparently it has happened, and they still bought the DVD.

Shedding layers now the sun had suddenly emerged from nowhere it was a pleasant walk beside the river leading up to the falls which from the noise we know we were at least heading in the right direction.

The falls were not so much falls actually but more a chute of water bombing down a narrow passage certainly giving you an idea of water pressure is with some 250,000 cubic meters of water every second flowing over them.

With a good portion of blue sky now overhead I borrowed Lee's phone to call the Taupo skydive center hoping to rearrange for tomorrow to be told they are jumping now and they'll come pick me up from here. Suddenly the idea of hurling while falling didn't seem quite so ridiculous.

Feeling bad at abandoning Lee she continued on to the Craters of the Moon another thermal area further on while I was picked up along with 3 more in town before being driven out to the airfield.

After a quick DVD video of someone's jump we were all suited up then hung around waiting once more for the weather to change now that a few clouds had rolled in again. Waiting around an hour the plane finally landed again as we stepped forward to be told

"Sorry guys, no more jumping today"

Having managed to build ourselves up for the jump for the last hour we were all suddenly left with a huge amount of built up adrenaline.

Think I'll go play in some traffic...
