I've always dreamed of traveling into space and today I would be one step closer with the construction of Mackay's very own space program with the help of some elastic bands, selloptape, an empty bottle and some spare plastic piping.

Alice had a school project to build a toy that demonstrated energy and lending a hand the two of us built a rocket capable of reaching, err not sure really but it went bloody high and beat my attempts of armature rocket building when I was a nipper without endangering the family cat in the process this time either.

A tea break during construction saw a professional demonstration of a technique I'd first heard tails of in Asia from fellow travelers, the Tim Tam slam. The maneuver requires you bite the opposite corners off the Tim Tam biscuit (think Penguin biscuit) then dip it into a hot (but not too hot) mug of coffee then suck the coffee up through the biscuit before quickly shoveling the now soggy biscuit it into your mouth before it disintegrates entirely. Yummy.

The days rocket launching was still not over with a few of Nigel and Sue's friends coming over for that Aussie institution, the BBQ. First though we headed down to the beach to try out Angus's shop bought rocket requiring baking soda and vinegar yet not matching nearly the height of Alice's Apollo contender.

With the launching over the rocket scientists returned to a celebrate the successful launch with a great BBQ with them seemingly trying to fattening me up - probably on covert orders from home.
