The south bank area of Brisbane, cleverly located on the south bank of the river, is a modern area of inner city escapism with a cinema, walkways, museums, art galleries and an artificial beach. The little sandy lagoon complete with seagulls skulking around was a pleasant place to plonk yourself for a while almost believing you where by the sea until you look up and see the high rise Brisbane skyline with a motorbike flying overhead. Huh?

It turned out this morning the south bank also had a bit of a show as part of a motorcycle expo about to start with a ramp constructed for a number of nerves of steel bikers to repeatedly try and emulate superman over.

Dropping into the travel shop yesterday to use the Internet the with the friendly Falkirk girl knowing I would be back bringing me a couple of Scotch pies and some Irn Bru from the Scottish food shop she mentioned which was a tasty surprise.

The bus to Noosa left in the afternoon with the short journey soon leaving me in what is probably best described as a older folks resort town kinda place sort of. Going for a walk along the river this could be seen by the alfresco restaurants and more than a couple of coffee shops lining the walkway.

Taking a gander out over the river I was stared back at by a monster, of a bird. Being in a whole new continent it was enviable to come across new wildlife along the way with my laying eyes on a group of pelicans for the first time resembling the kind of birds you would have seen in cheesy prehistoric B-movies carrying away unsuspecting spare crew men as well as the love interest.

Sharing my love of film was John an English guy also staying at the hostel and working here in Noosa as we spent some time chin wagging over movies before watching the Break Up which is what should probably be done with that DVD afterwards.
