With an extra day in Xi'an due to not being able to get a ticket outa here till tomorrow I spent the morning simply updating my journal and having a less than healthy breakfast at some market street food stalls (just try finding something un-fried).

Wandering back down the road I ran into Idan & Lihi so we decided to go do some shopping or at least Lihi did so we had little choice in the matter, think if she did not have the restriction of having to carry everything she would have bought enough shoes to fit every one of the Terracotta Soldiers.

Still not having her shopping needs fulfilled we walked over to the street market again looking for some cheapo fake goods to compare with what we had just seen, hard to tell the difference at times though in both quality and price Bell Tower

Feeling a noodle craving we headed back to the shopping mall where we had spotted a place to eat on the top floor offering the kinds of things we were looking for, even if it was in a shopping mall.

For some reason the process of ordering food here has to be the most complicated ever with at least half the staff in the place running around after us trying to help as we struggled to buy some simple noodles with no meat, a seemingly incomprehensible phenomenon for most Chinese (they do not seem to consider chicken as meat or most insides such as kidney etc). After eating a really good set of noodles and fried vegetables we went back to the hostel to book a place to stay in Chengdu and still thinking with our stomachs chose the one with the best looking food.

Lazing around the hostel for a while we met Nick from Sweden who was traveling with another Israeli girl he had met and whom I've forgotten the name of. Heading out for dinner we all chose the shopping mall restaurant were the other two had also eaten and like us were really surprised at how good the food was (being cheap was also an excuse to go).
Fresh?
Fresh?

Having filled up with a helping of spicy noodle soup but still not being able to handle any more dumplings we all went for a walk as the Israeli girl was looking for some souvenirs. Not seeing much of interest, despite one of the market sellers declaring "I lose money!" on trying to sell us some chopsticks at an admittedly low price, we went for a wander around the Muslim Quarter.

Nick was a really sound guy with a cutting sense of humor with the two of us venting the same little frustrations at some of the things we had seen around China. Still not filled up though, Nick had a craving for some junk food so we headed to a 24 hour McDonald's where it sat just up the road from the biggest KFC we had ever seen, they do love their fried food here.
