So the plan today was to meet up with some local hill walkers and go hiking in the New Territories but it was pretty misty so I used that as an excuse not to go (did not take much convincing) to hopefully spend some time updating my journal and uploading photos.
Holed up in an Internet cafe with only the purchase of a drink necessary for a few hours net time I ended up spending most of the time looking into where and what I would do over the next few days, a habit becoming more and more common to the detriment of my journal. After some time I went for a walk to Hong Kong Park thinking I would sit down and at least scribble down what I would put in my journal but again I ended up distracted and just sat people watching and enjoying the small oasis of green among the towering glass and steel skyscrapers on all sides. The park is actually pretty cool with a waterfall, aviary and even a small wedding reception where I watched one taking place.
For my final meal in Hong Kong I went for some excellent Wanton Noodles at the Happy Garden Noodle Restaurant could barely move afterwords but still just enough room left to squeeze in some shrimp dumplings all for just 25 HKD. I've enjoyed my time in Hong Kong and would maybe have stayed a little longer if the accommodation costs were not so high or at least more pleasant at the budget end although I'm sure there are if you search hard enough for them. Perhaps I'll stay at the Peninsula Hotel on my next trip here - hey I can dream can't I? More thumbnails ...
