Luckily today the Kinryu-no-mai or Golden Dragon Dance festival was happening at the Sensoji Temple, not that I had planned my timing or anything, come on I ain't that organized. I'd already seen the temple but didn't mind another visit in order to see what was going on. Without knowing the specifics of it all I gathered it had something to do with a Golden Dragon, hence the name, and there where plenty of local Japanese there with cameras on hand to witness it so figured I'd just hang around and see what would happen.

The festival involved a type of dance/performance with the golden dragon being paraded about to music performed by a group of geisha, still unsure if they were real geisha or just dressed up for the festival though like many of the locals.

Decided to hit the streets of Shibuya that evening which is the young, lively, crowded, vibrant and any other hip verb you can think of to describe this entertainment and shopping district. Stepping out of the subway at night into the main open space beneath the huge towering TV screens above you it took me 10 minutes before I could stop standing there with my mouth hanging open. Which is probably also the same reaction of who ever gets the electric bill.

Back at the hostel I was staying in that night I encountered my first Japanese toilet, on noticing no toilet paper readily available it was just a matter of pushing buttons and then holding on!
