All of the many many photos: Where in the world

Whoa.

Less than 48 hours to go.

All vaccinations have now been given, most of which I can barely pronounce let alone spell including Japanese B Encephalitis, Hep A and Typhoid as well as a healthy supply of Malaria tablets to boot. The list of things to do has continued to shrink over the last few days but a few loose ends still need to be tied off and a couple of odds and ends sorted out before finally packing.

Speaking of which I have still not tried to pack my backpack so things may yet still get left off the list if they don't/won't fit, although at this stage there appears very little to pack that I can't live with out - a GameCube is an essential right?

Anyway my going away shindigs last week went well which is more than can be said when moving out of my flat at the weekend when I think just about every mishap that could have happened did happen to the point where I almost started looking for the hidden camera with muggins here as the butt of some sort of TV show setup. Probably best that the bad luck hit all at once before I actually set off though, as well as the bad weather, after just having another pile of snow dumped on top of Scotland - although there is something much more satisfying about jetting off during it.

When first reading up about traveling around the world I read many accounts of people heading off with the minimum amount of preparation before hand and wondered how they could do that while staring at the first page of many of the list of things I should probably do. But just days away now, I can see the benefit of such thinking with much of the final preparation taking the wing it approach but maybe that is more out of necessity at the limited time left than by choice.
