Tonight we stay at Jabiru, the gateway to Kakadu national park, a world heritage site both for culture and natural beauty.

On the eay from Darwin, we stopped off at the aboriginal unpronouncable name wetlands centre (if you're interested, look it up). There was a huge glass hide and viewing area but we stopped off at the wrong time of day and saw next to ziltch.

We spent a couple of hours counting the hundreds of sandfly bites that the Darwin insects left as their legacy. Our conclusion. Darwin is a great place, best visited in a space suit.
