The last place we saw when on the road out of Denham was shell beach, a horseshoe beach mad up, not of horse shoes, but of small shells, almost all of which were undamaged. The beach had large undulations so it was easy to see that in most places it was metres thick. There must have been billions of shells. Horseshoes would have been even more amazing.

We drove to Carnarvon today through more millions of wild flowers. Nothing in this country comes in small numbers.

Weather fantastic so we just lazed and tried a new drink at the local pub, Swan Bitter. Just like the rest, very drinkable. By the way, all Australian swans are black.

Tomorrow we cross the tropic of capricorn so we should soon be really hot.
