Last night in Katoomba was so cold that it was frosty. Lucky us arrived just after the shops closed and discovered that we had forgotton to purchase a heater. What fun we had, we slept fully clothed and inside our sleeping bags. Even then our feet were cold.
After a bracing shower, we continued on through the NSW outback towards Broken Hill and took in the changing scenery. The road was mostly straight and we ate up the kilometers that day.
The evening campsite was at a town called Nyngan and we had a powered pitch right next to a beautiful slow moving river called the Bogan. Super value for $20. The guy temporarily in charge of the site was from Malton and even recognised our Cheshire accents.
