Arrived at the port of Labuan Bajo in Western Flores. What a great 3 days we have had. We paid for a cabin on board, most people slept on the deck, so we were entitled to a daily pack for each of us containing a bottle of water, a coke, a Bintang and a packet of crisps or biscuits. To make up for this generosity, entering the cabin was like re-entering the womb.
We stopped at various beaches and the snorkling was amazing. We also visited villages along the way. The most notable experience was when we were being transferred back to the "Cruise Ship" by small boat through a rip tide. The undercurrent would have drowned even the strongest swimmer so I was a little concerned for Chris. She can't swim and the life jackets had been stolen by some aircrew on holiday on a previous cruise to replace those stolen from their plane.
We also visited Komodo Island and our next entry will give more details. More thumbnails ...
