Leaving the U.K.

Ok, here goes, the day of departure is finally upon us !
We woke up at my parents' place in Bury St Edmunds, just finishing off final preparation before leaving for London to meet Katie's family.
It's been great to see my parents and Sam & Pete (sister + fiance) one last time before we leave the country. I'm very grateful for Sam & Pete for travelling all the way from Cheltenham to Suffolk to say goodbye, thanks Sammy ;)
We were also were able to see our friends Ste & Ali, at whose wedding we met 6 years ago now. I think I nearly dislocated my arm playing a version of "cricket" with badminton rackets with Ste & his daughter Chloe, but it was great fun...
We made it to London for lunch, meeting Katie's parents, brother James & his wife Anna and having a very nice lunch in Barnes.
After that it was back to James & Anna's for last minute packing & checking, cancelling direct debits, mobiles, hoping we hadn't forgotten anything important...
We were soon ready for our lift to Heathrow, so on went the packs for our last photo in the UK !
(Someone has rather cruely suggested that Katie & I look like hobbits in this photo ?!?! Seems a bit harsh, considering that James is 6ft 5" and standing on a step !!)
Anyway, just wanted to get the first entry on the board, and to thank all of you for your kind wishes, especially those of you who were able to make our leaving drinks in London on Friday, we had a fantastic time, as you can see from the photos below !!
Ok, with a bit of luck we'll pick this up again in Bangkok on 'Day 1 proper' of our travels, or very shortly afterwards, wish us luck for a safe first journey !
