I'm in Auckland... and I'm loving it!
Flight was great actually. Flew Air New Zealand, so waiting at the gate in Vancouver, I was immediately submerged in a bunch of people talking funny. LOL! BUT my seat ended up being with 2 Canadian boys, so we got to talk hockey and other such Canadian things. But truly, I slept through most of the flight. 14 hours goes by real quick when you sleep for 9 of them. LMAO! Arrived at 5:30am on April 23 (NZ time!), to a little black boy waiting with a rose, wearing a countdown shirt stating 00:00! :-) Needless to say, we hit it off right away, and are having the time of our lives! Started the morning with an impromptu walk along Mairangi Bay beach in Auckland, and then he took me to a garage where I watched 3 men in banana hammocks get spray tanned, and at that moment, I KNEW this was the place for me. LOL! I want to be a Westie! ;-) Checked into the most beautiful little motel (after he deked me by driving into a trailer park and telling me to pick one. LOL cheeky little shit), it's called Emerald Inn in Takapuna and it's lovely. Then I went to dinner with Chopz, but by myself as he watched me eat a delicious greek salad while I described how good it tasted like any supportive girlfriend would while boyfriend is food deprived. :-P

The next day was pretty hectic! Early start to the morning, and I got to meet Vini and Shaun (who ROCK BTW), and we got chopz signed into the bodybuilding competition. He weighed in at 78kgs (172lbs), which is unbelievable considering that he started this journey at 120kgs (265lbs) a mere 6 months ago. I am so incredibly proud of him. I then sat and watched the pre-judging. I'm telling you, in all seriousness I was the whitest person there. Like, almost transparant. Oh, and I also got to go backstage and watch a bunch of half naked muscle men get brown paint rolled on them like they were the side wall of a new house. Now I know what job to look for down here! I also got to be on "sweat patrol" and dab Shenan's forehead when he got glossy. I also FINALLY got the chance to meet Tracey, Joanne, Siobhan, Thomas, Lucille, Chris... and the list goes on! It was AWESOME! Needless to say, it was probably the most interesting first 2 days of a vacation I've ever had. OH but that's not all. Oh no sir. Oh no. This day's entry has not ended. So once the comp is over and Shenan has successfully given me war paint stains all over from his chocolate fondue spread, we get him scrubbed up, throw away a newly browned loofah, and get dressed up to go out. Had a few bevys at Vini's, and then hit the town... only to be shut down after 1 beer because it was Anzac Day the next day and hence, everything closed at midnight! I know, what the hell right! So, discovering that there are only 2 bars they knew of that are excempt from this law.... we get out of the cab in front of the drag club. Since Vini and Shaun are pretty big deals, we VIP style bypass a lineup of 80 people to be let into the club through the back door (pun intended!) and meet Miss Ribena, the tallest man-lady I've ever seen in my life. We kiss kiss and are lead to the club by the bouncer, where we proceed to get smashed. I got to meet Julian Clary (English comedian), and met a whole bunch of other people as well, and A LOT of drag queens. However, random, the first person I started talking to in the bar? Ended up being a girl from Toronto. BIZZARE. So we laughed our faces off, drank our faces off, danced the night away, sang musicals with an Irish guy and a Westie, and shot the shit. Oh wait... that pun WASN'T intended. LOL It was so much stinkin fun, I cannot even tell you. We were out until 6:00am. Yup. Sure were.
Woke up this morning with a fuzzy head, but we managed to get a gorgeous walk in on Takapuna beach, and a delicious meal that I was able to eat WITH my man, instead of IN FRONT of him. Mostly just relaxed considering the CRAZY couple of days that we already had! Not sure how often I'll be updating this, since tomorrow morning we're hitting the road to Paihia, and I'm not sure while we're travelling if I'll get the chance to be online. Just know, I'm having the best time ever, I'm completely in love, and can't wait to get out of JAFFA-land. HA! Just kidding. I'm very excited to see what other things this beautiful country has to offer. Including the ice cream.
And I have successfully not been eaten by a weta. THANK GOD.

I love that you have a little journal here with pictures. I will look forward to seeing what new adventures and shenanigans you will get up to every day. Cause I have no life right now...I feed baby, burp baby, change baby and sleep when I can at the moment. This will be my excitement for the next little while. Oh and who are these two VIP people?
