Before/After the NCAA tourney I visited friends in Atlanta, NC, Myrtle Beach (SC), and Melbourne (FL). Not much sight seeing - this is largely visiting good people.

Atlanta - LEFT FOTO  Shane & Allison Johnson. Shane is a UNC buddy who is now a badass accountant/finance guy. Allison is his lovely wife who, despite being a Jayhawk, is a relatively terrific person. RIGHT FOTO - shared a meal with HBS pal Oliver Koehler

In Myrtle Beach, SC, visited high school buddy Matt Freedman. Pictured below are 3 shots with the good people of SC. Matt was voted 'best looking' in our high school class - I'm not qualified to opine if that still holds true.

In NC near Charlotte, I did a great day hike at Crowder Mountain State Park. Thanks to George and Carla for helping me put a great outdoor experience together. FOTO Left & Right

The best part of following the Heels thru the tourney was spending quality time with George & Carla Harrison and getting to know their great kids Stuart & Melinda. They endured my company for almost 2 weeks of basketball bliss.  FOTOS Below

Spending time in the Tarheel state let me catch up with: FOTO LEFT - Carolina friends Kim Quarles-Swintosky and Marc Cullen in Raleigh (both attorneys who deny their accounting roots). FOTO RIGHT - cousin Al and his doctor wife Saadia in Winston-Salem. Al & I spent a fun nite out in Chapel Hill (fotos not blog friendly).

Also spent a great stretch in Melbourne, FL. Primarily visited Peace Corps legend Irwin Hertz. Also dined with Dave & Joyce Lehr - parents of college apt-mate and now professinal pilot Mike Lehr. FOTO LEFT - Dave, Joyce, and Irwin at casa Lehr. FOTO RIGHT - with Dave & Joyce.

Irwin's residence is a slice of heavan - a wonderful condo right on the ocean. FOTO RITE is the view from his bedroom. FOTO LEFT is an advanced kite-surfer ripping it up in the Atlantic.

Peace Corps pal Tim Jones had an EPA conference in Melbourne and stuck around to spend the weekend with me and Irwin. FOTO LEFT is us after kayaking with FL-EPA guru Bob. FOTO RITE is us on the water FL-style.

Melbourne is home to many Florida manatee, whose numbers are dwindling thanks to man's not-so-positive impact. FOTO LEFT is a manatee close to shore. FOTO RITE is a dinner at the tennis club with Irwin and his old-school friends (along with Tim and me).
