US 412 West is a pretty Highway through Oklahoma. Nice rolling hills. Beside the hit it takes on our MPG and the 4 toll booths, we are enjoying this road.
Stopped in Enid for several hours. Used McDonald's' WiFi, then on to K-Mart and lastly Wal-Mart. Went to Wal-Mart to try and return the air mattress we bought several years ago that has never worked well. Customer Service gave me this "yeah right are you serious" look and reply so I walked to the front of the store and threw it in their trash can. That was a waste of money!
Gloss Mountain Overlook..
We are in No Mans Land... actually its called Fort Supply. Just passed a road sign that said "Hitchhikers may be escaping inmates." I don't plan on picking anyone up.
This is Anne talking now -
Sooo... We decided early on that we would be camping the whole way unless some extraordinary circumstances arose that required getting a hotel. Well, we headed into the Oklahoma Panhandle where any viable campground would have been over 50 miles out of our route, so here we are at the Holiday Inn. Cecil called ahead and said it would be $45 a night, which I thought, "That's pretty good I guess." We get to the hotel after stopping by Taco Bell. Cecil goes in the check-in while I scarf down my 7-layer burrito and fresco soft taco in the truck.
When we first step in the hotel my senses tell me, "Clean, fresh, new, Yay!" We pass by the fitness room and my thoughts continue to say, "Yay
Sooo... Cecil must have talked to some other receptionist at some other Holiday Inn in some other Guymon, Oklahoma. I had a wonderful run, a nice long shower, the best nights sleep a person can have, and a yummy breakfast. The rest is history. At least once I pay the credit card bill :)
