Well, we thoroughly enjoyed todays game! Beautiful clear blue sky with mid-afternoon temperatures in the mid-70's. Our row V seats are just inside the covered area so we were in the shade for the whole game. Great game! The Mets have some young guys trying hard to make the remaining spots on the roster and they really hustle. By the 6th inning or so most of the starters have been pulled and these young guys put in. Last night we watched the Mets hot new pitcher, Johan Santana go 5 innings. He's their new quadruple gazillion dollar signee. This afternoon their last great quarduple gazillion dollar signee, Pedro Martinez, pitched his first spring season game. He's getting old but still has some stuff going for him.
The hightlight of the game for me was spending 2 1/2 innings standing in line to buy a "taco in a helmet" from the slowest taco maker in the western hemisphere. The line was moving so slowly I decided to go get my beer so I'd have it as soon as I got my helmet taco
Tomorrow is not a game day. So it's the beach for us. Gee, that's too bad isn't it?

. But, too bad for me, they were carding everyone buying a beer so I couldn't get one. Yes, it's true. I, a 53 year old short squat lady was denied a watery American beer because I had no I.D. with me. I finally got my taco in a helmet. If you can't quite picture that it is a plastic miniature batting helmet turned upside down to serve as a bowl with a taco salad inside of it. The guy makes them one at a time and puts everything away between each other even though he had a line 14 people long. Make one, clean up. Make one, clean up. Make one, clean up. Stop to reload cheese hopper. Make one, clean up. and so it went. . . . . . Tomorrow is not a game day. So it's the beach for us. Gee, that's too bad isn't it?
