Sydney
Entry 28 of 59 | show all | print this entry |
Well we are still in Sydney and having a good time. Its raining here today, so it feels just like home!!
I just finished in Macquarie Bank last week. The people there were lovely, I had great fun working there. I'm job hunting again now, so fingers crossed.
We had a bit of a drama on Friday when we realised that our next flight was on 1st November (a few days time!!). When we booked the flight the computer system only let us book as late as November, and then you can change the date of the flights for only a few dollars nearer to the time. We had been meaning to do it for a while but forgot. If we didn't change them we would have forfeited the rest of the flights, ahhhhh!. Anyway it only took a few minutes to change, but that was a close one. Our flight tickets were looking a bit bashed, have travelled around the place with us for the last few months so I was looking forward to having a fresh set of tickets, but no it was not to be. You keep the same tickets, they just put stickers on top with the new dates, ah well.
We are in Sydney 3 months now and I can't believe how time has flown. The Christmas decorations are up here already, which is way way too early for me. It feels so weird to have decorations up when the weather is so warm.
We are flying to Hobart (in Tasmania) for Christmas. We had looked at a few places, but decided on Hobart as it is the least warm place in Australia (if that makes sense!!) so we could be somewhere kinda cold for Christmas. Its still 20 degrees, but its colder than the rest of Oz. Yes we are officially mad, but there you go.
The clocks have just gone forward here, so with the change at home at well, we are now 11 hours ahead of Ireland!! Sometimes you forget about the time difference. I was about to ring someone at home when I realised that it was just 5.15am!! Don't think that she would have appreciated that on a Sunday morning!!!
